Germany: Day Five

Uneventful drive from Mannheim to Dortmund. Parked at University, took bus to the stadium. Sat with Anheuser-Busch execs and were pretty much overwhelmed by this Brazil-Ghana matchup.

Prematch score wagers - Harry & Jamie Redknapp choose near the bottom

Claire, Tony, Ryan @ Westfalenstadion

Pele & Franz Beckenbauer were 30 rows behind us.

3 huge futbol superstars (and Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Adriano)

3 Brazilian goals, 3 Brazilian gals

2nd Brazilian Goal via Adriano

Stolen From Ronaldinho

Ronaldo's quick exit post-match

Bus back to car, dropped off at wrong spot. Walked through University of Dortmund. Tony took one look around and snarked that this was "one of those German hotbeds for Islamic fundamentalism." Hopped on the A2 to shoot over to Berlin. Stuck in traffic for an hour as three lanes merged to one. Ate at surprisingly trendy McDonalds, and eventually crawled into Berlin. After spat w/ check-in clerk, back to the room to pass out.

Tomorrow: Checkpoint Charlie & a day of Berlin sightseeing.

Your pictures are (which also means your seats must therefore be) incredible. Are those from your Sony or from another in the group?

5th row seats for Brazil/Ghana. We = lucky ducks.

Ryan C has been taking the fantastic game shots w/ his nice Sony - shots by myself & Claire are throughout the rest of 'em.
