Germany: Day Seven

Another day away from futbol. Walked down to the Sony Style store for memory sticks and general tech gawking. The HD camcorder/monitor combo was ace.

Then took a Tauntzienstraße-bound cab to hit the Adidas superstore - our driver ended up being one of the locals used for the World Cup PR campaign. Walked past Marcelo Balboa on the street.

Back to the hotel for email/naps, then in the car for food and more city sights. Eventually settled on a decent biergarten complete w/ various WWII & Cold War discussions within the group. Claire heavily argued that the movie "Patton," while laudable and immensely watchable, ensconced too much of Omar Bradley's reverential tone and that therein any didacticism, overtly intentional or not, was forever held suspect. We then went for ice cream.

The city's already getting electric for tomorrow's Germany vs Argentina match. Can't wait.
