Germany: Day Nine

Early morning rise in Berlin, then in the car for the long drive to Frankfurt. It should be noted zero David Hasselhoff sightings or even name utterances were to be had this trip - Germans are too infatuated with Robbie Williams these days.

Checked into Frankfurt hotel, off to city center for a spell, then off to Frankfurt Stadion & the Brazil/France 9PM match. Watched the miserable England loss on the big screens pre-game.

Françoise Hardy's daughter?

2 x 10

Barthez punches one out

Bring the Brazilian beats

Henry's goal - he's the one flying in up top

ZZ's embrace after Henry's goal

Still in the stadium

Everyone agreed this was probably the best match we'd seen all trip, and that's saying something. As Tony mentioned, your brain would shut down due to info overload throughout the match - "oh man, it's Ronaldo vs Zinidane," "holy crap - Ronaldinho vs Viera" etc. Even hearing the Stones' "Satisfaction" played on the PA afterwards sounded unbelievably fresh.

more non-good TV - possibly German h4x0R & PR junkie Kimble?

Quick exit out, back to our crummiest hotel of the trip. No Internet or wi-fi only added to the crumminess factor. Early rise the next AM to catch our flights back to the States - long day, and my lost luggage has still yet to arrive - I blame a seemingly uncoordinated Homeland Security finally arrived. Next up, sell all possessions and move to New Zealand next year.

Thx to everyone who has followed along & sent all the great feedback. Glad to have shared this trip. Already miss the loud songs of the Waldamsel.
